Ocean-Based Programs for Girls & Boys

Surf Camp with Hammer Surf School
The OisF has a partnership in place with Hammer Surf School for this camp sponsorship opportunity. If selected, participants will receive five 3-hour group surf lessons from HSS, which can be scheduled by the participant on days/times throughout the summer that work best for them (the dates of the surf sessions do not need to be consecutive). All lessons will be in a group setting with other kids who have registered for camp through HSS directly.
There are HSS camp locations in Spring Lake, NJ; Seaside Park, NJ; and Lavallette, NJ. You can learn more about HSS Surf Kids’ Camp for ages 7-11 here and HSS Teen Group Surf Camp for ages 12-15 here.
This Program is open to any boy or girl who has been abused or exposed to domestic violence. Boys and girls ages 7 and up are encouraged to apply. Siblings are welcome to apply together. Participants will receive a special code to book all sessions online directly with Hammer Surf School. Applicants must be able to swim, but no surfing experience (or experience in the ocean) is necessary!
SUP Camp with Endless SUP
The OisF has a partnership in place with Endless SUP Company – Belmar for this camp sponsorship opportunity. If selected for this Program, participants will receive one week of stand-up paddle camp (which includes 4 consecutive days of AM or PM camp – Monday through Thursday), for a week in the summer that works best for them. All camps will be held in Belmar, NJ. Participants will be a part of a group with other kids who have registered for camp directly with Endless SUP Company.
This Program is open to any boy or girl who has been abused or exposed to domestic violence. Boys and girls ages 7 and up are encouraged to apply. Siblings are welcome to apply together. Participants will receive special instructions from The OisF on how to book. Applicants must be able to swim, but no SUP experience (or experience in the ocean) is necessary!
Surf & Skimboard Camp with Sandy Avocado Surf
The OisF has a partnership in place with Sandy Avocado Surf for this camp sponsorship opportunity. If selected for this Program, participants will receive one week of surf & skimboard camp (which includes camp Monday through Thursday from 9am to 12pm). You can learn more here.
All camps will be held in Beach Haven, New Jersey. Camps are offered weekly, starting on June 24th, 2024. Participants will be a part of a group with other kids who have registered for camp directly with Sandy Avocado Surf.
This Surf & Skimboard Program is open to any boy or girl who has been abused or exposed to domestic violence. Boys and girls ages 7 - 12 are encouraged to apply. Participants will receive special instructions from The OisF on how to book. Applicants must be able to swim, but no surfing experience (or experience in the ocean) is necessary!
Island Girls Surf & Skate Program with Sandy Avocado Surf
The OisF has a partnership in place with Sandy Avocado Surf for this camp sponsorship opportunity - a true sisterhood experience! If selected for this Program, participants will receive four days of surf, skate, art, yoga, and more! Each day will include surf inspired activities, designed to improve riding techniques both on land and in the ocean, while creating a platform of sisterhood for young women. You can learn more here.
This Program will be held in Beach Haven, New Jersey. This Program is offered during the weeks of July 8th, July 22nd, August 5th and August 12th. Participants will be a part of a group with other girls who have registered for camp directly with Sandy Avocado Surf.
This Surf & Skate Program is open to any girl who has been abused or exposed to domestic violence. Girls ages 8 - 17 are encouraged to apply. Participants will receive special instructions from The OisF on how to book. Applicants must be able to swim, but no surfing (or skating) experience is necessary!
